University City Science Center Houses Two New Startups

Two biotech startups have a new home at the University City Science Center.

The companies, Targeted Therapeutic Solutions (TTS) and Innolign Biomedical, are coming in from UPstart, a startup incubator through the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Technology Transfer.

UPstart has created a “pipeline of startups,” said Christopher Lang, vice president of science and technology at the Science Center, in a statement.

TTS is developing an agent to reduce strokes, and Innolign Biomedical is developing a product that promotes tissue regeneration.

The startups are recipients of small business and innovation research grants from the National Institutes of Health. The companies are in the first phase of the grant, which awards $150,000 over a six-month period to each company.

The workspaces are located at 3711 Market Street. The Science Center provides a support community for area healthcare, IT and technology startups.
